September 21st through October 5th.
We are looking for all shoes styles please! Mens, women's, children's sandals, boots, tennis shoes, sneakers and even singles for amputees are all welcome. Please bring your shoe donation to Lotus Boutique at 908 Main St in Boonton during regular business hours. Please rubber band or tie pairs together for easier shipping.
Lotus Boutique will be offering a $15 gift card as a thank you for your donation.
"I am so excited to participate in this shoe drive and to be able to contribute my business location to help collect shoes that are going to help the people of Haiti who have experienced unimaginable devastation," Connor said.
Lotus is working with Pennsylvania resident Karin Beth Pfisterer-Leaver who will be traveling to Haiti on October 18th with Soles4Souls to distribute shoes. Pfisterer-Leaver is asking for help in reaching her goal of collecting 1,000 pairs of shoes.
"We will be visiting an orphanage while we are there -- many of the children have NEVER had a pair of shoes. Thank you for your generosity" Pfisterer-Leave says.
Founder and CEO of Soles4Souls, Wayne Elsey praised the union between small business and the world-wide need for charitable giving.
“We need our partners like Lotus Boutique and the Boonton area community to ‘STEP UP’ and get behind our call for action. It’s one of the most simple yet profound gifts you can make, because it will greatly improve someone’s life in the most difficult of times,” Elsey said.
It is estimated that Americans have 1.5 billion pairs of unused shoes in their closets. Soles4Souls can use each and every pair of these shoes to make a tangible difference in someone’s life.
